The 2022/2023 elite one championship will be played in two pools, of 11 teams each. A total of 22 teams are taking part in the competition.
The top two teams of each pool will play in a playoff to decide the champion and runners up of the league at the end of the pool phase. The top team in pool A will play against the second in pool B and vice versa. The winners of the two matches will meet in the final of the play off to determine the champions and vice and the losers will also meet in the second match to determine the 3rd and 4th placed teams of the championship.
A total of four clubs will be relegated into the inferior league at the end of the championship. The clubs classified 10th and 11th will be relegated from both pools
