Team PWD

PWD Bamenda was founded in 1962 as the first football club in the Northwest region of Cameroon (west Cameroon) the team has played in all tiers of Cameroon football league, playing and loosing to dynamo Douala 1-3 in the famous 1979 cup of Cameroon finals.
PWD has been champions of the NW region several times and has represented the region in the mini inter-pools to qualify teams into the then Cameroon first division.
PWD emerged third in the 2002/2004 football season, representing Cameroon in the CAF champions league where they were eliminated in the round of 16 by as douanes of Senegal.
the team had a rebirth in 2015 after years in the lower leagues when it was taken over by PWD holding company in accordance with Cameroonian football laws that prescribed for teams to be owned and run by companies.
the team successfully qualified for the elite two that year where they struggle for two seasons before picking up a ticket into the elite one as runners up in the 2018/2019 football season/
with its new management and structures put in place, the team quickly dominated the league in 2020, emerging champions of Cameroon for the first time during the 2019/2020 football season.
