PWD Closes gap on designated champions

Team PWD resuscitate title hopes

PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda pulled a fabulous 4-1 victory over Djiko FC of Bandjoun on Thursday August 12, 2021 to narrow the gap on designated champions Fovu Club of Bafum to only three points with 4 matches to go. The win takes the Abakwa Boys to 28 points and they next host Fovu in Bamenda. A victory over the FECAFOOT designated CAF representative will place PWD in a strong position to make it to the playoff to determine the champions of Cameroon.

A brace from Moluh Mohamed and goals from Enyegue Francois and Mael Dindjeke were enough to seal the day for the Bamenda outfit. The lone goal for the visitors was scored at the 28th minutes of play through Deric Duena Kameni.

PWD fans celebrating with players

Earlier this week the executive committee of FECAFOOT designated Fovu Club of Baham and Cotonsport of Garoua as the country’s continental representatives in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively. A decision that was received with mix feelings by the Bamenda public and supporters and fans of PWD given that the championship was still to run its course and with PWD of Bamenda into the finals of the Cup of Cameroon, thee was every reason reason for their team to be chosen if any other team was to be.
